Who is Vivendi?

Vivendi is a French media giant which has acquired EMI's record label division for £1.2 billion. They will integrate it into the largest music label company in the world, the Universal Music Group. As well as UMG, it owns many things, including the well-known game company Activision Blizzard.

Universal Music Group (UMG)

This is the largest and most draconian record label group there is. If you click the first of the links in the previous sentence, you will see how this corporation practically ruined a man's life. UMG also has a plethora of labels under its belt, with a plethora of artists contracted to them, including the timeless ABBA and the aptly-named Lady Gaga! Again, doing right by your country involves abstaining from buying music from any of these labels. Vivendi/UMG are also part of the lawsuit against the government. Please note that Universal Pictures cut its ties with Vivendi last year and had already been only 20% owned by them for most of the decade.
